The Inspiration

Have you guys subscribed to Ed Brubaker’s (From the desk of Ed Brubaker) mailing list? If you’re into his stuff, you really should.

Brubaker (Captain America; the crime noir book Criminal; and—my favorite of the lot—Kill or Be Killed, etc.) is one of the industries foremost comic book writers to make use of the mailing list medium wherein he gets to puts out the online content that he wants to an equally interested audience.

That’s sort of the dream isn’t it?

With writer Zack Kaplan.

For (Season 1 | Episode 5) of The Tedi31 Podcast with Dr. Tedi Villasor, I spent some time with Top Cow/Image and Aftershock Comics writer —Zack Kaplan—during Day 2 of the New York Comic Con 2018 in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Since February 2017, Zack has crunched out one hot book after another with Eclipse, Port of Earth, and The Lost City Explorers.  All three properties have since been optioned for television–every writer’s dream.

In the pod, I asked Zack about his writing process, how he gets his stories down to the industry standard 20-page limit, and much more.

Audio 001 – Toy Review: Disney Pixar Cars 3 Die-Cast Mini Racers [Series 1]

Last July 17, 2017, the family and I caught a late afternoon showing of Cars 3[i] before proceeding to a nearby department store in order to check out some of their Disney Pixar Cars 3 merchandise on display.

Strategically displayed by the escalator, there was a host of Cars 3 eye candy.  But the one that caught my eye was the Series 1 Disney Pixar Cars 3 Die-Cast Mini Racers.  These blind bag items retailed for about P149.50 so I decided to pick up a couple of bags for this review.[ii]
