Review: Glass (2019) [No Spoilers] (January 25, 2019)

img_6252Despite hearing of a number of unfavourable online reviews, we decided to catch Glass (2019) in the cinema today and came out of it enjoying director M. Night Shyamalan’s vision of a comic book universe set in the real world.

Shyamalan did a masterful job weaving in familiar comic book troupes into, what I have come to understand, is the third installment in the Unbreakable film series.

Third?

Guess, I really have to watch Split (2016) now.

Recommendation

If you are willing to take a step back from your idea of a modern cinematic superhero movie, you’ll enjoy Glass (2019).  I also felt that it could stand on its own merit without one having previously seen Unbreakable[i] or Split[ii].

[i] I haven’t really watched Unbreakable again since I caught its cinematic release back in late 2000.
[ii] I would fall under this category.
