A first for everything
Over the last two or three years, my friends and I have gone on several day trips to San Pablo City–the farthest point that I have ever driven down south. On each of those road trips, I was always the one behind the wheel with my friends usually handling the navigational duties.
Armed then with the ever reliable Goggle maps, a confidence-building group presence, and (much needed) good conversation—we hardly felt any of those three-hour trips[i].
However, today’s narrative was quite different with me going on it solo and I’d be lying if I told you that I wasn’t the least bit concerned[ii].
But I managed, powered through, and arrived in San Pablo unscathed at about 3:20 pm.

Proceeding to the convention site
After a brief stop at SM City San Pablo[iii], I slowly made my way to Rono’s Place in Lakeside Park Subdivision, the site for tomorrow’s 4th San Pablo City Comics Festival!
However, by not being from San Pablo City, the venue wasn’t that easy to find[iv]. But I found it (eventually) and my timing couldn’t have been better–I guess–as I was able to assist the organisers in setting up some tables and chairs. I was also able to get some recommendations on possible loggings for the evening and settled on staying in Ang Tahanan ni Aling Meding, a nearby 3-star hotel and restaurant that overlooks a breathtaking lake.
So I guess that’s it. I’m all set for tomorrow.
Really looking forward to Lindol Comics‘ first convention for 2019.

[ii] Lost my way a bit but quickly recovered and made it to San Pablo City via Lipa.
[iii] Booksale pilgrimage.
[iv] Another reason why I decided to go a day early: To familiarize myself with the area.
