Back in the early 90’s, Compact Discs (CD) were the thing! A literal upgrade in quality from the bulky Vinyl, 8-track, and cassette tapes. It was the only way to get music back then as digital downloads were still in its infancy. CD’s also had a long lifespan–unless you left them under direct sunlight–and were reported to be good for a couple of thousand plays before encountering any problems.
Here is the latest batch of discs that I picked up:
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)
A surprising good movie which I still consider a stand-alone in the Fast and Furious franchise. I’ll need a little more time to go though the OST again but I do remember Tokyo Drift and The Barracuda standing out.
Track List:
- Tokyo Drift – Teriyaki Boyz – 4:15
- Six Days (Remix) [Featuring Mos Def] – DJ Shadow – 3:52
- The Barracuda – The 5.6.7.8’s – 2:28
- Restless – Evil Nine – 4:54
- Round Round – Far East Movement – 3:20
- She Wants to Move [DFA Remix] – N.E.R.D – 3:34
- Cho Large [Featuring Pharrell] – Teriyaki Boyz – 5:14
- Resound [without intro] – Dragon Ash – 4:45
- Speed – Atari Teenage Riot – 2:50
- Bandoleros [Featuring Tego Calderon] – Don Omar – 3:18
- Conteo – Don Omar – 2:23
- Mustang Nismo [Featuring Slash] – Brian Tyler – 2:25
Ten Summoner’s Tales (1993)
Ten Summoner’s Tales was the 4th solo album released by Sting back in 1993. It was a memorable one for me as it contained the songs: If I Ever Lose My Faith in You and Seven Days–two of my personal favorites. The album also rekindles memories of the movie Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) which used the song It’s Probably Me.
Track List:
- Prologue (If I Ever Lose My Faith in You) – 4:30
- Love Is Stronger Than Justice (The Munificent Seven) – 5:12
- Fields of Gold – 3:42
- Heavy Cloud No Rain – 3:39
- She’s Too Good for Me – 2:30
- Seven Days – 4:40
- Saint Augustine in Hell – 5:05
- It’s Probably Me (Sting, Eric Clapton, Michael Kamen) – 4:57
- Shape of My Heart” (Sting, Dominic Miller) 4:38
- Something the Boy Said – 5:13
- Epilogue (Nothing ‘Bout Me) – 3:39
Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting 1984–1994 (1994)
Sting’s first compilation that was released in 1994. Truly got it for a song: P100 ($2).
Track List:
- When We Dance – 5:59
- If You Love Somebody Set Them Free – 4:15
- Fields of Gold – 3:39
- All This Time – 4:55
- Englishman in New York – 4:27

Again, Compact Discs….you gotta love them 🙂
